Our History
At the age of 16, Leon Pearce started employment time as an Indentured Apprentice Welder for a vessel manufacturer and high pressure pipelines. He worked for the company three years and from this early age forged an enthusiastic interest in working with exotic metals such as Nickel Alloys, Titanium and Monel.
By the age of 19 Leon was working as self-employed Contractor in the role Pipe Fitter/Welder. The companies he worked for included Air Products, BA Systems and BOC. He also worked in the nuclear industry and on shore pipelines.
Alunox Welding Systems was formed by Leon Pearce in 2001 whilst still working as a Contractor for five years in order to support and establish the new business. He rented a small workshop in Rhossddu, Wrexham.
By 2010 the business had grown and evolved both nationally and globally. Alunox Welding Systems became Alunox Race Exhausts. Leon moved and bought his current premises on the Llay Industrial Estate in Wrexham. As his reputation grew as a result of both quality and reliability, Leon was able to take on employees both in the workshop, marketing, CAD design and the office administration.
2016 saw the beginning of re-evaluation and investment. The premises was updated and re-decorated and capital investment saw the purchase of new machinery and up to date technology to take the business forward. This continued through into 2017 and beyond. Alunox saw the opportunity to change the name to Alunox Advanced Tube Engineering to encompass the many facets of the business. The diverse products range having expanded into three divisions; components, exhausts and tube bending & fabrication.
Alunox’s new logo was launched in 2018 to coincide with it’s new and exciting transition. A new website was launched and in the near future an E-commerce site will give customers the chance to buy on line to increase the speed and ease of ordering parts for both the professional constructor and the skilled enthusiast.
Alunox get its business by word of mouth and reputation. This year Alunox will have its company van wrapped in order to portray a more corporate image nationwide.
The expansion has allowed for new research and development opportunities. Leon has been developing a new quieter exhaust systems for high performance cars whist retaining maximum power for strict noise requirements at race circuits. He has also been working on new titanium systems including using the Asnex material. This has reduced the weight by 50% therefore increasing speed and lowering emissions for race and fast road cars.
Alunox Advanced Tube Engineering enthusiastically continues to look for opportunities to grow and invest in all areas of the business and has put in an infrastructure that values both it’s staff and customers as a priority in order to ensure that it offers a service that is professional, the best quality and something to be proud of.
